” Prior to the addition of the five new holes this was the original 1st hole. “ Information Water and out of bounds runs up the right and heather and long grass are found further up on the left of the fairway. The approach shot to the green needs to clear the grass mounds a few yard in front of the green surface, after clearing those there is no further trouble around this very accessible green. Most players aim to the left with their tee shot on this hole to avoid the water on the right, but rough and heather await those that stray too far to the left. Fortune favours the brave who manage to find the fairway and are rewarded with a straightforward approach shot to the green. Pro’s Tip An accurate tee shot with your preferred club is required on this par 4 leaving you a straight forward approach shot to a relatively unprotected green. Graham Ross Golf Professional

The Anchor

The Anchor is an Inverclyde-based charity dedicated to improving mental health and wellbeing, preventing suicide and supporting individuals, young people and families across our communities. Our approach is built on relationships, early intervention and providing accessible support before people reach crisis point.

We offer a range of services, including our Monday drop-in from 10am to 6pm, where anyone can access a safe, welcoming space to talk, seek advice or receive support without an appointment or referral.

We also work closely with local community organisations, sports clubs and partners to raise awareness, reduce stigma and encourage positive conversations around mental health. Through our Beyond the Bet initiative, we are raising awareness of gambling-related harm and its connections to financial difficulties, relationships, mental health and suicide risk.

Our partnership with Skelmorlie Golf Club provides an opportunity to bring these important conversations into a trusted community setting, helping people recognise potential harms, access support and build stronger connections.
